Displaying our work
Here’s a look at the trade show booth we set up. Trade shows are very competitive and we put our display together by bits and pieces. Take a look at the cardboard cut outs and showercurtian backdrop. Sometimes a little out of the box thinking can go a long way. Afterall, isn’t that how we got this far?
Finally
We pride ourselves in out students’ determination that comes from years of self development. Congratulations to Tim L. who endured more hours in the field trying to accomplish his goals than most adults. It is always our job to be encouraging of our students goals. We believed in Tim and more importantly he believed in us. So proud of your desire to succeed in all you do , Tim.
GEESE WIN!
We just got back from a reward trip to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We were the guests of B & J Guide service. they have showed our students love for the past 5 years. One student, Tim has been getting his share of action. After years of him giving back, we decided to overload him with a plethora of hunting trips. He is still in search of the elusive taxidermy mount that all of our student recieve. The geese socked it to us pretty good. However, its about learning and developing. Exactly what hours in a pit bind will do for you!
Applied!
Well after you practice for a diner you have to go and apply what you learned. Cabela’s had our students attend their store in Hamburg where they were treated to a meal with special seating. Not only did the students enjoy a holiday meal but they each received a fishing rod courtesy of Cabela’s. Talk about being rewarded for your work, the only thing that could have made it better was going by Santa’s sleigh.
Remembering……
No gang signs here! Learning that bread goes on the left and drink goes on the right, for dinner next week at Cabelas is a great trick. We all need to remember that we started somewhere and the path we have chosen was based upon many factors. At Camp Compass , we try to identify and limit the negative factors that influence teens. The result is happy students and a full belly.
Watch Your Step…
It seems that noise and the city go hand in hand. We never stop to think how much noise we make. Our students had the oportunity to figure out how to make less noise when they are in the woods. They had to watch their step. Isn’t that a secret to making it in life? We teach our students to plan for the steps they will take in life too!
