LimoToday Takes us to the show!

LimoToday has officially annouced it’s pledge to help Camp Compass.  Owner  Glenn Centolanza has for sometime believed in the works of Camp Compass and has announced that LimoToday.com will stand beside Camp Compass when we need specialized transportation support.  “We will do everything in our power to make sure the Camp Compass kids are made to feel special when they are traveling for  their rewards.”

Inner-City Youth Hunting Program Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary

Students Will Receive Mounts at the Eastern Sports Show on Sat. Feb. 13th, 2010

Allentown, PA – On Saturday February 13th students from the award winning program Camp Compass will be receiving a unique reward.  The students will be honored with mounted game heads from hunting trips from this past year.  The mounts are a donated service by the Pennsylvania Taxidermy Association. “This is an annual event and it will be neat to have the sponsors get to see the kids receive their mounts since usually the students receive them at the P.T.A. Convention each year.” stated john annoni, Founder of the program.  “Each student receiving a mount has been involved with Camp Compass for at least 2 1/2 years and this event will be a culmination of lots of classroom and field time.” 

The event will be held prior to the show doors opening on Saturday, February 13th in the Northwest hall (booth 3445) adjacent to the Pennsylvania Taxidermy Association’s booth.  It will start promptly at 9 a.m. and the event will end around 9:45 a.m.  This will give participants in the show time to return to their booths for the start of the show.  The event is only open to exhibitors and media involved with the show.

Camp Compass Academy is an award winning program that rewards inner-city children with hunting and fishing trips based on academic and social performance.  It was recently featured on the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.  It is nationally known as a program that has been able to implement a college style learning with an outdoor focus in places where traditional outdoor outlets have not been able to reach youth.

We’re celebrating a milestone!  Camp Compass Academy will be 10 years old as a nonprofit organization.  To celebrate we have released an interactive internet CD.  To get a copy email info@campcompass.org.

Out into the snow!

New Year’s eve found us in 2 inches of snow trying to fool some mallards.  It was our last hunt of 2009 and it ended with a bang. OK, pun intended!

Home for the holidays!

Team Mayhem stepped in again this time to offer two graduate students from Camp Compass a special reward.  Vicky is headed to intern with Disney in January and Allie is home from college in California. 

Early rising in Virginia

Two more of our students were guests of Randy Birch for a waterfowl trip in Virginia during the holiday break.  The boys enjoyed an experience of a lifetime.

Team Mayhem Waterfowling

We were delivered a great early Christmas gift compliments of Team Mayhem Waterfowling.  We recieved a donated goose hunt and it was a present that will be remembered for a long time!

The OneFace.me  video grant sponsored by Verizon and the Lehigh County Bar Association will be featuring our students.  The 5 minute  video will be released in 2010  We will try to get more information on line as soon as its available.
